Terms of Use

EpubTidy is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”). These Terms supplement the Standard EULA for features specific to EpubTidy. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA applies.

You may use EpubTidy on Apple devices that you own or control, subject to the App Store Usage Rules and the Standard EULA.

EpubTidy lets you import, organize, edit, read, and export EPUB files that you provide. EpubTidy does not provide a book catalog or grant you rights to any book, cover, metadata, or other content.

You are responsible for ensuring that you own or have permission to use, edit, and export every file and image you bring into EpubTidy. You retain any rights you already hold in your content. Using EpubTidy does not transfer ownership of your books or files to us.

You must not use EpubTidy to infringe copyright, distribute unlawful content, or violate the rights of another person or organization.

EpubTidy is intended for EPUB files that can be lawfully opened and edited. It does not remove or bypass digital rights management (“DRM”) or other access controls.

You must not use EpubTidy, or attempt to modify it, for the purpose of defeating DRM, encryption, licensing restrictions, or other technical protection measures.

When you edit a book, EpubTidy writes the selected changes into its local copy of the EPUB. Changes may include metadata, series information, categories, and cover artwork.

Although EpubTidy is designed to preserve a valid EPUB structure, EPUB files vary widely and some files may be malformed or incompatible. You are responsible for reviewing the result and keeping backups of important original files. We cannot guarantee that every EPUB, reading app, or reading device will support every edited or exported file.

Book Match searches an external book service for possible metadata and cover suggestions. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or associated with a different edition.

You decide which suggestions to apply and remain responsible for checking the resulting book information. Metadata and artwork supplied by external services may be subject to third-party rights and terms.

Book Match requires an internet connection and may be changed, limited, or unavailable if the external service changes or becomes unavailable.

EpubTidy includes reading and text-to-speech tools for convenience. Display, navigation, pronunciation, voice availability, and accessibility may vary depending on the EPUB, language, device, and installed system voices.

When you export an EPUB through the iOS share sheet, you choose the receiving app, service, or device. Compatibility and handling after export are controlled by that destination, not by EpubTidy.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EpubTidy is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties that are not expressly required by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of EpubTidy, including loss or corruption of files, metadata, covers, reading progress, or other data.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live. The warranty and liability provisions of Apple’s Standard EULA also apply.
